Hi! My name is Priya Sippy and I am a multimedia journalist covering East Africa.

I cover a range of topics including business, health, culture and technology. Previously based in Dar es Salaam and Berlin, I am now living in London.

My work has appeared in BBC, Al Jazeera, Quartz, Rest of World, TRT, World Politics Review, New Internationalist, The Continent, New African Magazine and Fodor’s Travel, amongst others. I have reported from Dar es Salaam, Nairobi, Abidjan, Berlin and London.

I am currently working as a journalist for BBC Africa’s digital production hub, with a focus on audio production. I was formerly a freelance producer for BBC World Service, working on Focus on Africa, Newsday, Outside Source and the Africa Daily podcast.

In my spare time, I have a Swahili vlog called Nusu Mzungu. I also love dancing, mainly to afrobeats. I recently completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training at Swasti Yoga Hatha Yoga Centre in Rishikesh, India. I speak Swahili and I am learning French and Hindi. Karibu sana.
